About the store
CardVault by Tom Brady is a US retailer of sports cards, trading card games such as Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering, collectibles and memorabilia. It sells online and through its own physical stores.
The chain started as a single store and now opens new locations near major sports venues. Its stores offer card grading drop-off through PSA, Beckett, SGC and CGC, and the team streams live card breaks on Fanatics Collect, eBay and Whatnot.
Beyond full stores, CardVault runs smaller kiosks in airports and venues, such as LAX Gate 130 and MSP Airport Gate E18.
The challenge
Collectibles retail depends on the visit itself. Opening packs, checking card condition and handing in cards for grading all happen at the counter. A chain in this category needs fans to walk into a store.
Mall, airport and venue locations are hard to find from an address alone. A shopper needs a photo of the storefront, the opening hours for that day and a route.
A growing chain also changes its store list often. New openings and temporary kiosks need to appear quickly, and each site can keep different hours.
Use case 01: Fans plan a visit with photos, hours and directions
The Store Locations page lists all 22 CardVault locations in a three-column grid above a full-width Google map. Every card has a large storefront photo, so a fan can recognise the entrance before arriving.
Each card also has a Hours dropdown with the schedule for every day of the week, plus phone, email and address. The Get directions button opens the route in Google Maps.
These details answer the questions that come before a store visit: what the store looks like, when it is open and how to get there. They matter most for mall and airport sites, where the entrance is not visible from the street.
In TA MAPPY, the cards use the Images and Business hours fields on each location, and the Directions button. The page title and header link (“Locations”) come from the store’s own theme.
Use case 02: Two location types on one branded map
CardVault runs two formats: 19 full stores and 3 kiosks at LAX, MSP Airport and PLAY Boston. Each card shows its type in a pill, and the Tags filter lets a fan show only stores or only kiosks.
A traveller at an airport can filter for the nearest kiosk, and a collector planning a longer visit can show only full stores.
The map uses CardVault’s own “C” shield as the marker, with cluster bubbles where several locations sit close together. This setup uses Tags & Categories, custom marker icons and the Appearance settings in TA MAPPY.

Try it on your store
The setup for a page like this is covered in the use case guide Help shoppers find your stores and visit them. For brands that sell through other retailers, see Show shoppers where to buy your products near them.
TA MAPPY: Store Locator & Maps is available on the Shopify App Store.
Observed on the live storefront on October 13, 2026. Store settings may have changed since. Location counts come from the store locator on the page, and CardVault did not supply data for this case study.
