About the store

iFi audio is a British hi-fi company that makes DACs, headphone amplifiers, portable DAC/amps and desktop streamers. AMR (Abbingdon Music Research) launched it in 2012 as a sister brand for smaller, more affordable products.

The company is based in Southport, UK, where it designs and builds more than 50 products. Its buyers are music listeners and audiophiles who listen at home and on the move.

The online store ships worldwide and offers a 1-year warranty. Alongside it, iFi sells through independent hi-fi retailers and regional distributors.

The challenge

When a hi-fi brand sells through independent shops, shoppers must work out which nearby store stocks it and whether that store is authorised.

Authorised status carries weight in this category, because warranty and authenticity often depend on where the product was bought. iFi’s own Where to Buy page states that it cannot guarantee products from sellers it does not list.

A network of several hundred dealers also changes every month. A dealer list typed into a page goes out of date quickly, and shoppers cannot sort it by distance or filter it by dealer type.

Use case 01: Shoppers find the nearest authorised dealer

The Where to Buy page pairs a dealer list with a Google map, both sorted by distance from the shopper's location.
The Where to Buy page pairs a dealer list with a Google map, both sorted by distance from the shopper's location.

The Where to Buy page opens with a location search, a radius slider and a tag filter. Below them, a dealer list sits next to a Google map with clustered pins.

The map detects the visitor’s location and sorts dealers by distance, so a shopper in Warsaw or Tokyo sees local stores first. The page holds 492 locations, and each search lists the closest 250.

Each dealer card shows the distance, address, phone, email and website, with a Get directions button that opens Google Maps. In the first 250 results, 209 cards include a phone number, so many shoppers can call ahead before they travel.

In TA MAPPY, this layout uses Auto-Detect Nearby Stores, the distance filter and the Directions button. Locations can be added one by one or imported by CSV or Google Sheet.

Use case 02: Elite Dealers stand out from the wider network

Dealers in iFi's Elite Dealer tier carry a badge on their card and can be filtered with one checkbox.

iFi marks 21 of the 250 dealers in the default view as Elite Dealers, and their cards show an Elite Dealer badge image.

A shopper who wants an Elite Dealer can tick one checkbox and hide the rest of the list. The same filter works on the map, so the pins update with the list.

This setup uses the Tags & Categories settings in TA MAPPY for the filter, plus an image field on each location for the badge. A brand with authorised, premium or service-centre dealers can use the same pattern.

What merchants say

The app has been really great since I started using it to create dealer locations on my store.
